Presentation
The WeNaTour E-learning Course is a training opportunity designed for those who want to gain knowledge and practical tools to innovate in the field of sustainable tourism. The course will take place on the Moodle platform of the University of Padua and will include video lessons, reading materials, quizzes, and interactive activities.
Thanks to its asynchronous format, participants will be able to organise their study time according to their own needs, without schedule constraints. Throughout the programme, four live webinars with international professionals and real case studies will provide the chance to interact directly with experts and explore key topics in sustainable tourism. The course will be led by the University of Padua (Italy), with the support of WeNaTour partners. The teaching staff includes both academics and professionals with hands-on experience in the field, offering a practical and up-to-date perspective on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable tourism.
Programme
The WeNaTour E-learning Course offers a structured and engaging learning path to explore sustainable tourism, from foundational concepts to specialised expertise. The programme is designed to provide both theoretical insights and practical applications, ensuring participants develop the skills needed to innovate in this evolving system.
1 | Introductory Module: Understanding Sustainable Tourism Innovation and New Markets
The course begins with an overview of the latest developments in sustainable tourism, focusing on emerging trends, market opportunities, and innovative approaches. This module provides updated knowledge on how the tourism industry is adapting to environmental, social, and economic challenges, setting the stage for a deeper understanding of sustainability in tourism.
2 | Technical Module: The Role of Destination Management in Sustainable Development
Sustainable tourism destinations require careful planning, governance, and impact assessment. This module explores the fundamental principles of destination management and the responsibilities of different stakeholders in ensuring tourism contributes positively to local economies, communities, and ecosystems. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of what makes a destination truly sustainable through video lectures, self-study materials, and interactive webinars featuring industry experts.
3 | Specialisation Module: Tailoring Your Learning Path
Participants can customise their learning experience by selecting at least two topics from a range of specialisation areas. Each option allows a deeper dive into a specific aspect of sustainable tourism, helping learners develop expertise aligned with their interests or professional goals.

• Application of smart technologies to sustainable tourism destination
• Methodologies for stakeholder engagement and facilitation in destinations, from theory to practice

4 | Final Project: Applying Knowledge in a Real-World Scenario
The course concludes with a hands-on project where participants will put their learning into practice. Each participant will develop an individual project, addressing a real-world challenge in sustainable tourism. This exercise will help consolidate their knowledge and demonstrate their ability to apply sustainability principles to practical situations, preparing them to drive change in their professional contexts.
